“There is a need for us to be GENTLEWOMEN, to be strong and gentle all the same.”
I have been pondering on the feminine genius and on our need to be strong and gentle.
I have been quite stressed lately, due to multiple problems to solve and added workload. When I get home, I am grumpy and sensitive to the smallest comment from my husband.
I have not been gentle towards myself or others and it has taken a toll on many.
Recently, I went to an Adoration chapel and spent the most beautiful and vulnerable hour. Towards the end, I pulled my agenda from my tote, where I have a couple of prayer cards. One is the litany of humility and the second is an image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with a virtue on the back that reads, “Gentleness” and a quote from St. Vincent de Paul.
I heard the Holy Spirit whisper about this need to be kind. I promised Our Lord and myself that I would work diligently on that very virtue.
There is a need for us to be GENTLEWOMEN, to be strong and gentle all the same.
I pray that Our Lady continues to be a great example for us, and that she intercedes for each one of us as we accomplish great things for ourselves and others, always in kindness and in grace.
